2021 Practical info

Event access (updated on 20 July 2021)

Event access restrictions due to COVID-19 still change every day, so it is important to check regularly if any changes occured. Government restrictions that are in effect aon the day of our event are applied for and these can be different from the moment you purchased your ticket. At this moment, every event visitor over the age of 12 needs to hold a proof of complete vaccination at least two weeks prior to the event, or a proof of a negative PCR test that was taken maximum 48 hours prior or a proof of a negative antigen test that was taken maximum 24 hours prior or a recovery certificate of no older than 180 days. This will be checked at the exit of the parking of the event. If visitors do not have the proof of complete vaccination or of a negative PCR test, access will be denied.

Ticket sales

The purchase of tickets will preferably be organized online through our website in advance. In this way you are not only able to purchase your tickets with a strong price reduction, but you also ensure a smooth access at the gate. Children between the age of 8 and 14 can purchase tickets at a special rate and our aviation friends younger than 8 years old can visit our airshow in general admission for free.

You purchase your tickets at a more reduced price when you are registered as a Sanicole Airshow Insider. Ticket prices rise every month, so do not wait to purchase your tickets!

Maximum capacity per event day

For our 2021 edition the organization will apply a maximum capacity of 7.500 visitors per event day. This is a choice of our organization in order to optimize the comfort of our visitors. In this way you will have more space on the showground and social distancing with other vistors can be improved.

There are some important changes to our showground for our 2021 edition. On the showground there will be 5 large visitor compartments in which we will allow 1.500 visitors per compartment. Within this compartment, wearing a mouth-nose cover is not compulsory and the catering and sanitary facilities will be provided. In this way queues for catering and sanitary will be limited. Behind these visitor sections there will be a large boulevard which will take you as a visitor from your dedicated area to the trade stands, static display and attractions on the ground. When moving about the showground and on the boulevard, wearing a mouth-nose mask is required. Your visitor compartment will be allocated at the event and can be chosen freely as long as the maximum capacity per compartment has not been reached. Each visitor has access to one sector.

Entering the airfield is possible:

  • Friday September 10th from 05.00 PM till 09.00 PM
  • Saturday September 11th from 10.00 AM till 06.00 PM (last possible entrance to the event at 04.00 PM)
  • Sunday September 12th from 10.00 AM till 06.00 PM (last possible entrance to the event at 04.00 PM)

The flying displays start:

  • Friday September 10th from 06.00 PM
  • Saturday September 11th from 11.00 AM
  • Sunday September 12th from 11.00 AM

The parkings will be centralized in 2021 on two locations and free of charge. Visitors with regular tickets (no special arrangements) no longer need a parking voucher. You will be automatically assigned to the parking located the most easily accessible for you upon arrival. The parking is at walking distance from the entrance, so there will no longer be shuttle busses to get to the event.

We have special parking areas reserved for disabled visitors or visitors who require wheelchair transport.

Car parks open at 04.30 PM on Friday and at 09.00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.

Enter the address Kamperbaan 165, 3940 Hechtel, Belgium in your GPS to visit our event for easy access.

Public Transport

Coming by train, please choose the station Leopoldsburg as a final destination.  Our airshow’s transport team organizes a free shuttle service between the train station of Leopoldsburg and the airfield. Shuttle service is available on all three airshow days and will only take a 10 minutes drive to arrive at the entrance.

Food & Beverages

The Sanicole Airshow has made a major investment in catering facilities for our 2021 event to offer our visitors a great and wide range of different food and beverages within their visitor compartment.
This year we will introduce a cashless card at our airshow for all food and drink payments on the site. How does this work in practice? You used to buy vouchers at the ticket sales points to pay for your food and drinks. As from this year, you will receive a Bevers & Bevers card which you can top up at the sale points, either with a bank card or with cash. When you go to the drinks or food stalls with your Bevers & Bevers card, the balance of your order will be taken from the card. This ensures a very fast, smooth and cashless transaction.

Program book

Traditionally the Sanicole Airshow sells a program book about the airshow, which will be sold at the two public entrances of our event at a cost of € 5,00. In this program you will find a participants list with the timing of our flying display.

Program books can be purchased online in advance through our website at a cost of € 4,00 and can be collected at the showground passed the entrance at the day of our event.

Dogs and pets are prohibited at our airshow. We all love animals and therefore we are convinced it is better to leave our animal friends at home. We cannot protect the ears of our pets as we can protect ours and it is unpredictable how they will react to the noise of airplanes.
