Belgian Air Force A400M
With roughly 49 years of service on the clock, the C-130 transport aircraft were in urgent need of replacement. Together with Luxembourg, Belgium invested in a brand-new transport aircraft that significantly expands the capabilities of our air force. The state-of-the-art Airbus A400M Atlas has a much greater payload than the C-130 allowing for larger payloads, as well as greater speed and superior flight range, enabling the Air Force to support operations faster and further. This impressive 4-engined colossus of approximately 45 meters in length did not miss its entrance and, despite its recent addition to the air force, is already being used intensively in international operations.
Belgium ordered 7 of these technological marvels, which will be based at Melsbroek alongside the Luxembourg aircraft.
