Meeting some old ladies

The legendary Spitfire was in active service of the Belgian Air Force between 1946 and 1952. From 1952 onwards the Spitfires were replaced by Thunderjets. In 2018, Spitfire Mk XVI SL721 became the first Spitfire to be registered in Belgium in over half a century.

A recent addition to the Belgian warbird scene is the T-6 Harvard of Safety Jogger and Stijn Dejaeghere, the Flying Nurse. This legendary training aircraft was built in 1944 and was brought back to prime condition in 2011, winning it the award for best restoration at the legendary American Oshkosh airshow. Stijn will proudly tell you more about this gem during our digital airshow.
