Update Sanicole Airshow

It is very nice to see there is a better outlook and our lives are evolving to a more familiar situation. Still, there is some way to go.

The International Sanicole Airshow prides itself in keeping safety and quality at the forefront. We will always ensure our visitors can have a prime experience in an optimal situation.

This is why we have opted as organizers to go down a safe path for the setup of our 2021 event, which will raise the comfort and experience levels of our visitors.

We opt for a show weekend of 3 days with an evening show on Friday 10 September and daytime shows on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September, with a maximum capacity on the showground. More than ever we want to offer our visitors maximum comfort and we therefore choose to spread the audience over several days and allow fewer visitors. This will enable you to enjoy the show comfortably, which can only benefit your Sanicole experience.

The fundamentals of our show remain untouched: an international line-up of prime performers with the finest pilots and teams from across Europe, a trade zone on the showground where you can buy aviation gadgets, a kids zone with exciting attractions for larger AND small children to get the blood rushing, aircraft that can be seen on the ground, …

Perhaps some of you are wondering whether this setup is still called for in September, when prior to our airshow there are other larger events planned in a traditional fashion. We will not know the answer to this until only a few days before our show. Regardless, we consciously choose to offer our visitors higher comfort this year and we are convinced this will be appreciated by our visitors.

Next week on Monday, all information about our ticket sales will be available, but to conclude, we want to reiterate a few items:

Given the lower maximum capacity of the showground, we will not have remote parking locations or shuttlebuses this year, so visitors can park within walking distance of the airfield. This also eliminates parking fees this year. The shuttlebus running from the station of leopoldsburg will still run as usual.

Event timing:
The Sanicole Sunset Airshow will take place on Friday evening from 18:00 until 20:15 and the showground will be accessible from 17:00 until 21:00.
On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September, the show will start at 11:00 and continue non-stop until 17:00. The showground is accessible from 10:00 until 18:00.
For the day shows, a later start was chosen to stagger the influx of the audience. To compensate for this, there won’t be a pause in the flying display over lunch.

Access requirements:
The protocols regarding the entry conditions to events are still in constant evolution and we will continue to update you on what the authorities require us to abide by. At this point in time, we are working under the assumption that apart from an entry ticket, you will also need a proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test to visit our airshow. We hope to communicate about the appropriate practical implementation of this soon, when the authorities have determined this. International visitors are obviously welcome at our airshow, but they must also bear in mind international travel restrictions which may be in force at the time of our airshow, in addition to event regulations.

Seated event:
In previous communication, we worked on the assumption of assigned seating for all visitors. In light of the easing of restrictions, we will abandon this plan and will no longer have compulsory seating at the show. However, we will continue to offer visitors extra comfort by setting up separate seating areas complete with sanitary and catering facilities.
